Carpenter claimed that Anne was his primary selection for the role however she turned down the role. Anne doesn't remember John Carpenter contacting her or suggesting the role. It is possible that one of her representatives decided to decline the job on her behalf without informing the actress. Glen Larson chose her initially and sent her a preliminarily written script. She would play in the television series Battlestar Galactica, which aired in 1978. She initially rejected the part because she felt her character was weak. Glen created a brand new character for herself, using Sheba being a more formidable character. The Living Legend was accepted following her reading of the original 25 page script. The show ran for one season.
